Parent Partnership Policy

International Torah Academy believes that meaningful education is built upon trust, communication, mutual respect, and shared educational purpose between families and the school. As a Torah-centered educational community, ITA seeks to cultivate an environment of derech eretz, cooperation, responsibility, and constructive partnership among students, parents, teachers, and administration.

Parents and guardians play an essential role in supporting both the educational process and the overall atmosphere of the school community. In order to maintain a healthy and respectful learning environment, families are expected to uphold the following principles.

1. Respectful and Constructive Communication

Parents are expected to communicate with teachers, staff, administration, students, and other families in a respectful, thoughtful, and constructive manner at all times, whether through email, phone, online communication, social media, or in-person interaction.

Questions, concerns, and disagreements are a natural part of educational partnership and should be addressed through calm, solution-oriented communication that preserves mutual respect and professionalism.

2. Support for the Educational Environment

ITA asks families to support the integrity of the educational process by reinforcing responsibility, participation, respectful conduct, and appropriate classroom behavior within the home environment.

Parents are encouraged to work collaboratively with teachers and administration in helping students develop accountability, healthy learning habits, and kavod ha’melamed within both online and parent-directed learning settings.

3. Respect for Teachers, Students, and School Community

A healthy educational environment depends upon preserving the dignity and well-being of all members of the school community.

Harassment, intimidation, hostile communication, aggressive conduct, threats, repeated disruption of the educational process, or behavior that significantly undermines the learning environment will not be tolerated.

ITA reserves the right to maintain appropriate boundaries and educational standards necessary for the well-being of students, families, teachers, and staff.

4. School Communication and Resolution of Concerns

Parents are encouraged to share questions, feedback, or concerns directly with the appropriate teacher or administrator through established school communication channels.

In order to protect student privacy and maintain a respectful school environment, school-related conflicts, disciplinary matters, academic disputes, or concerns involving students, teachers, or families should not be discussed publicly or circulated among other families outside official school processes.

5. Partnership, Trust, and School Community

ITA seeks to build long-term educational partnerships rooted in trust, sincerity, communication, and shared educational values.

Families who thrive within the ITA environment are families who approach the educational process with cooperation, respect for teachers and staff, and sincere commitment to supporting student growth both academically and personally.

Administrative Review

Failure to uphold the principles outlined in this policy may result in administrative review and, where necessary, additional action intended to protect the educational environment and overall well-being of the school community.

Depending upon the circumstances, such action may include:

  • formal communication or warning,

  • limitations on communication methods,

  • administrative meetings,

  • temporary enrollment conditions,

  • or reconsideration of continued enrollment.

Each situation is reviewed individually and thoughtfully with consideration for the well-being of students, staff, and the broader school community.
